New Homes and Schools coming to Beaconside
Temporary road works are taking place on Sandon Road to support the delivery of new schools, affordable homes and other amenities and infrastructure for Beaconside.
The works are part of Bloor Homes’ new 2,000-home development, north of Beaconside, which will deliver new primary and secondary schools and other amenities including retail units, parkland, sports pitches, a health centre, and an elderly-living facility.
To continue the highways improvements, and in conjunction with Staffordshire Council, we will be closing the section of Sandon Road (B5066) leading to Beaconside Road (A513), to all road traffic from 6 April, for a period of 6 weeks. Road users will be asked to use the A51 and A518 to gain access to Beaconside.
Bloor Homes are progressing these current roadworks now to install the necessary new utility services needed not just in order to deliver new houses, but also to help Staffordshire County Council to commence work on the much needed new secondary school as soon as possible.
The wider development will not only help Stafford Council meet its home building targets and infrastructure needs but will also provide substantial financial contributions through an extensive S106 package totalling over £28 Million.
A website providing more information on the project will soon go live here, and any questions regarding the works can be sent to engagement@calcomms.co.uk.
More information on the progress of the works, and further works planned next year to facilitate the development, will be announced in the next couple of months on the website.
